Christopher Stevens Global Ambassadors Project

Project Description

The UC Berkeley Center for Middle Eastern Studies will build on its existing Stevens Scholars program by broadening it to include mutual cultural and intellectual exchange. The Christopher Stevens Global Ambassadors program will provide an opportunity, via vlog and virtual meeting environments, for Berkeley undergraduates to interact with a diverse group of peers at institutions in rural Morocco (the location of the late Ambassador’s Peace Corps service) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with subsequent exchanges planned in Iraq and Jordan. The program will also offer online language conversation exchange for students studying Kurdish and Arabic at Berkeley and students from the region studying English.
