Announcing the 2024 Stevens Initiative Alumni Fellowship

Alumni play a key role in our work to shape and inspire future leaders. They exemplify the incredible value and impact of virtual exchange and demonstrate this as they go on to become the next global leaders, peacekeepers, educators, and more.

We often say that one’s virtual exchange doesn’t end with the completion of a program. It’s an ongoing journey with opportunities to build on the knowledge, skills, connections, and experiences gained throughout.

A key pillar of our work is enhancing the alumni experience by fostering a vibrant community with opportunities for continued learning, growth, and development. As such, we are thrilled to announce the third iteration of the Stevens Initiative Alumni Fellowship. This unique offering allows alumni of J. Christopher Stevens Virtual Exchange Initiative programs to advance personally and professionally as global leaders, intercultural communicators, and cross-cultural collaborators while deepening ties to the U.S. Department of State and the Stevens Initiative.

Eighteen outstanding alumni, from eight areas in the Middle East and North Africa and five states in the U.S, were selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants to take part in this year-long professional development opportunity. Programming is designed to meet alumni where they are with a tailored learning experience which will include monthly virtual learning sessions, community engagement activities through the design thinking framework, an in-person workshop in Morocco, professional development opportunities, and a culminating Summit in Washington, DC.
