World Learning’s STEAM Innovations is an inclusive and engaging virtual exchange program to reach underserved youth in Algeria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the United States that culminates in a collaborative community project that addresses a local or global issue in an entrepreneurial way. The program optimizes participant engagement, cross-cultural exchange, and skill development around STEAM discovery, civic engagement, language learning, and entrepreneurship. Program participants also receive guidance to identify personal pathways to STEAM-related careers.
Activities
STEAM Innovations participants complete 10 weeks of independent curriculum on Canvas and weekly synchronous, facilitated discussions over Discord. The curriculum is structured into five modules and covers self and career discovery, technical STEAM skills, civic responsibility, problem solving, and creative thinking.
