Mónica Flores Barrigan

Regional President, ManpowerGroup Latin America

Mónica Flores was named Regional President of ManpowerGroup Latin America in January 2013 and is responsible for the company’s operation across 18 countries. Since joining ManpowerGroup in 2003, she has held a variety of positions across the organization including Managing Director for the Mexico and Central America region from 2007 to 2012. Mónica is a passionate advocate for diversity and developing impactful alliances amongst governments, civil organizations, and private enterprises to close the gap between the supply and demand of talent in Latin America.

She was the first Mexican woman president of the American Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the Board of Global Companies and participates in advisory boards of different educational institutions such as Junior Achievement Americas and Laureate International Universities Mexico. Mónica has been recognized as one of the most powerful businesswomen in Mexico and Latin America by Forbes, Expansión, and Líderes Mexicanos, among others. She is also in several business rankings such as CEOs Change Makers LATAM by Horse, The 500 Most Influential People in Latin America by Bloomberg, Top 10 Disruptive CEOs in Mexico by El CEO, and Mujeres Fuera de Serie. She has also been named SIA’s Staffing 25 Latin America by Staffing Industry Analysts.

Mónica was distinguished by the Senate of the Mexican Republic as Outstanding Woman of the Year (2011), by the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants as Outstanding Woman of the Year of Mexico and Latin America in Business (2016), by the Women Economic Forum as Woman of the Decade in Innovation and Leadership (2019), as Woman of the Decade by WEF LATAM (2023), as Woman of the Decade and Woman of the Year 2024 by The International Parliament of Education as Woman of the Year 2024. She has also received an honorary doctorate from the University of Santander (2024). Mónica is the author of two books: “Cómo conseguir tu primer trabajo” and “En sus marcas, listos… ¡Empléate!” and is co-author of the book “Consejos para Consejos.” Mónica graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico as an Actuary. She holds a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from the Panamerican University, as well as a Master in Business Administration from IPADE Business School. Her academic development is also complemented by a Diploma in Philosophy and History of Mexican Culture. She lives in Mexico City.
