Georgia State University’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Social Impact uses challenge-based learning to build business and entrepreneurial competencies and critical 21st century skills among students from Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and the United States. Students join binational teams to leverage social entrepreneurship and innovation as a strategy to address global challenges. Teams receive guidance from mentors, form dynamic networks, and participate in interactive modules that help them develop their skills.

Activities

Participants work together on a project around a specific concentration such as global innovation, case research, or a new business venture. Through interactive modules on leadership, entrepreneurship, international business, and communication, participants build critical global competencies. Activities take place online in real-time through Zoom, Teams, and Moodle. All activities prompt regular sharing and ideation between binational partners. Small group dialogues help participants build mutual understanding and learn how to communicate across cultures and regions. Top teams are invited to pitch live at a virtual showcase, where the top three finalists are selected by an advisory committee of industry professionals and educators.
