TOCA Online provides meaningful language practice and cultural awareness among language students from universities in the United States and university students in the Middle East and North Africa. Participants engage in real-life conversations on a range of topics including language and culture, intercultural communication skills, global leadership, and more. Through community building, students enhance their global awareness and interpersonal skills, which will prepare them for future careers.

Activities

Young people from the U.S. and MENA engage in a structured series of one-on-one language exchanges in Arabic and English, workshops, and interactive online modules that enrich their educational experiences. After collaborating synchronously and asynchronously over seven to eight weeks, American  participants submit short self-introduction videos in Arabic, demonstrating their new language skills. Participants from MENA submit presentations that describe their experience collaborating with U.S. students to prepare them for the workforce.
