- High School/Grades 9-12
World Learning’s The Experiment Digital connects high school-aged participants in the U.S. and the Latin America region using online platforms. The program has two offerings: Climate Change and The Environment and English-Spanish Language Exchange. In Climate Change and The Environment, participants explore the intersectionality between climate change and their communities and design projects to address ecological restoration, community resilience, and/or societal inequity. In the English-Spanish Language Exchange, participants learn how to read short paragraphs, converse about their daily lives, and write descriptive passages in both English and Spanish.
Activities
In The Experiment Digital Climate Change and the Environment, participants engage in weekly activities via Canvas and Zoom focused on understanding the climate crisis in communities around the world and complete a final project that proposes a solution for the climate crisis. Post-program workshops and alumni reunion events are offered to supplement learning and engage participants beyond the exchange.
In The Experiment Digital English-Spanish Language Exchange, participants engage in asynchronous activities to learn how to read, write, and speak in both English and Spanish. Participants will interact with language instructors and peers around the world to practice their language skills. Post-program workshops and alumni reunion events are offered to supplement learning and engage participants beyond the exchange.
