• Undergraduate

American University of Sharjah's (AUS) Transformative Sustainability Project (TSP) gives undergraduate college students in the United Arab Emirates and the United States the tools to transform their local and global contexts into more sustainable communities in the context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

TSP helps participants shift their localized perspectives by asking them to grapple with some of the largest global problems and how people from different regions can work together to solve them. Through international collaboration, participants get hands on experience tackling issues that they otherwise would not engage with in their day to day lives. TSP empowers the leaders of tomorrow with tools to address interconnected global challenges and grow in sustainable ways.

Activities

Participants are paired across countries to engage synchronously and asynchronously on individual course projects that allow them to apply shared knowledge and connect relevant SDG information to their overall course learning. TSP is an interactive program equipping the participants with the skills for solving global problems: critical thinking on global sustainability challenges, analytical learning, and empathy for different life experiences. At the end of the program, all participants are awarded a Certificate of Completion and are invited to join a virtual conference where they showcase the best student work, gain knowledge from a panel of experts, share what they’ve learned with one another other, and meet and network.
